My name is Charles Orwig. I completed my Bachelor’s degree at Appalachian State University in 2016. My interest in mental health took root during my military service from 2008 to 2016. Back then, I faced challenges that went undiagnosed for years. Those personal struggles shaped my desire to help others who feel lost or overwhelmed by their own mental health concerns.
In 2017, I started a bail bonds business in Hickory, Lenoir, and Morganton, NC. That work put me face-to-face with people in crisis. In 2018 alone, I lost 32 clients to overdoses and suicides. Each one was someone I had spoken with and tried to support. Seeing these tragedies pushed me to do more. I used the remainder of my GI Bill benefits to earn a Master’s in Social Work. From there, I served as an Addictions Counselor and later joined a psychiatric facility to broaden my experience.
In 2021, while working with the Veterans Affairs, I began to address my own pain linked to my years of service. This process opened my eyes to the importance of seeking help and taught me the value of honest self-reflection. I now share that understanding with those who come to me for guidance. Each day, I see how therapy can provide hope and direction, no matter what someone may have lived through.
Today, I’m grateful to offer free consultations for new clients. My focus is on creating a safe environment where people can unpack their struggles and begin to heal. My own journey reminds me that nobody has to face mental health challenges alone. I look forward to walking alongside those who decide to take this step toward change.

Therapy should be accessible to everyone, no matter where they live in the state. Remote sessions offer a flexible way to connect from the comfort of home. This approach removes commute worries and can ease the stress that comes with face-to-face meetings. It also allows individuals to fit therapy into busy routines without skipping a beat.
Online therapy meets the same standards as in-person care. Video or phone calls keep each session private and focused on growth. Clients across North Carolina can schedule a free consultation to explore how remote therapy might help. This convenient option makes the first step to better well-being more manageable.

Therapy is a guided process that helps a person handle life’s challenges. In Conover, NC, it can cover family struggles, mood swings, or stress from work and home. The goal is to offer a safe place to speak freely about what feels heavy. It is not about judgment. It centers on listening, sharing, and building trust.
Therapy involves honest talks with a licensed counselor. This work can reveal patterns that affect thoughts and emotions. Therapy can bring self-awareness and calm. It can give the tools to face hard moments or conflicts. Each session aims to open a path toward understanding.
Therapy may ease feelings of anxiety, fear, or anger. It can also nurture stronger bonds between couples or family members. Conversations can clear the air and reduce guilt or shame. Individuals learn how to handle triggers and build healthier habits for daily life.
Many people gain a fresh view of themselves by attending sessions. Goals can become clearer. Emotions often feel less overwhelming. By learning new ways to cope, a person can step into a brighter future. This self-growth process can boost confidence and support healthy balance.
